The Wired Compact Controller is compatible on PC with Windows 10 and 11. However, the PlayStation website states here that "some third-party PC compatible controllers that use XInput work with the PlayStation Now on PC service, but we do not guarantee that they are fully compatible".

1. Unplug and plug again your controller to your gaming system without any action on your joystick or trigger.
2. If your controller has a companion app, make sure that:
   • The firmware is up to date.
   • The settings of your joystick or trigger are not too aggressive.
   • The dead zone settings are not set at their minimum.

2. Download the Windows drivers and extract the zip.
3. Double-click PS4 Compact Controller 1.17. The software opens.
   
4. Follow the software instructions to connect the controller.
5. Wait for the drivers to install.
6. Check the controller to make sure that the problem is solved.

The only way to reset this controller is to disconnect and reconnect it.

If you downloaded the firmware and you can't go past the initialisation screen, you can try some reset troubleshootings to force the console to recognise your controller.

The white LED indicates that the controller is powered, but the PS4's standard system software hasn't assigned a player profile to it yet.

Do a Safe Mode reboot

1. Turn off your console. 
2. Restart it into Safe Mode. To do so, hold the PS4 Power button until it beeps twice.
3. Connect the controller.
4. Select Restart PS4 from the Safe Mode menu.
5. While keeping the controller plugged in, let the console boot back into the initialization screen.

Clear the console's cache

1. Turn off your console. 
2. Unplug the power cable from the back of the console and leave it unplugged for at least 3 to 5 minutes. 
3. While the console is unplugged, hold down the console's Power button for 30 seconds to drain any residual energy.
4. Plug the console again. 
5. Connect the controller to a different USB port on the console.
6. Turn on the console.

Re-sync the controller

To force a synchronisation command, on the initialisation screen, press the Share button and the PS button at the same time for a few seconds.

For now, to wake the PlayStation 4 console, you must use a Sony DualShock 4 controller through the Bluetooth communication.
